The Thin White Queen met the Black Queen
They sat together over the black and cream
Discussing the pros and cons of life with men
Trusting and courting with them again.
The Thin White Queen sat pale and wan
Disappointed and distressed at the memory of man
For she has pushed them all far away from her
Alone she dwells in the palace and gardens so fair
Graciously tolerates the outside world
Ensconced in robes so beautiful and royal.
The Black Queen so confident and wild
A confidant and one belonging as a child
She takes the Thin White Queen in hand
Shares the right to the royal band
Coming to terms with the slings and shots
Of life so cruel and the kindness of thoughts
Towards the wisdom she has gleaned
From treading the roadways of life cleaned
Of all sin and blame and the enemies woe
To the Black King they together must go…
