The Red Queen

She is silent and still having served a mighty shock

From a lover, once close but heart now a rock

Throwing her over for something less than real

The Red Queen acquiesces over the unfair deal.

He pushed her far away from his life

Separate and silent they side-step the strife

That would upset the royal court of love

Each seeking their own psyche to prove

That love will find a way, but not with her

The Red Queen fights the hurtful burr

As he roves out of sight to pastures of another

Leaving her heart broken and in need of a lover

Who will eternally keep her out of the gloom

And fill all her dreams in the world of no doom

Take flight as The Red Queen surely will

To mend her soul and tragedy and beauty fill

Her mind now open and being set free from the past

With The Thin White Queen who will keep her fast…
