Breathless

Her waiting heart is breathless and still

Labouring daily up the steep hill

To the place where she thought he would go

But never again did her true love show

That he was interested in her perfect body

Kept for him from Earth’s tawdry folly

And lingers still to the point of doom

Casting only shadows in the darkening gloom.

Who will release her from this spell

Set her free to love others as well

Others who will attend to her deepest need

Of acceptance and affection agreed

That she should be kept by the power of God

For one so ready and loving abroad

But her heart is given already to one

And all her love is spent and done.

The lost Queen

Aimlessly wondering and waiting

For the one she truly loves

Though far away and indecipherable.

Not wanting to be found yet wanting

The tender touch of a sensitive man

Who hurts as she hurts

And searches for her but not finding

Forever apart and lingering at the point of love

Never reaching though always reaching

The desire of all desires

Never fulfilled and ever thwarted

She climbs the hill again…

The Eternal lack

The lack of love was always on the cards

Left too late and left aside outside the barbs

Of the fake, the hidden and the obscene

Leaving only longing in between.

The throwing back of the eternal curtain

Reveals a love so steady and certain

That it will not leave or break or lessen

A love learned and experienced as a lesson

Taught by love Himself on a cruel tree

Bleeds and dies for such a one as me

And you I perceive your pain

Washing over me again and again

You love but the bonds of law bind you fast

Leaving me in the threat of weariness at last

Is this as good as it gets for you and me?

The end of love and a heavy heart in me.

I have no knowing and no feeling but the hurt

Of endless blame and magnanimous dirt.

Calling

I called you sweet sensitive man down through the years

You did not hear me, so full of fears

Love lingers still on the threshold of the door

Waiting in hope to see what is still in store.

She waits but the waiting is left in vain

As the logic of life rattles again and again.

On the roof of the old house long forgotten

But a fire still burns in the grate not sodden

The strains of the music still sing out strong

And she imbibes the words far too long

Of the love of others who have found their true mate

She still travails in grief through the holy gate

Where her love once stood waiting but he was gone

And now all is empty, dry and her heart forlorn.

True love

Will she ever find what she is looking for?

The Thin White Queen seeks an open door

One that lead to her true lover’s heart

And opens the way to play her part

In the stage set for this life and the next

True lovers that will never be parted or vexed.

The Black Jack King has no comprehension

Of the love awaiting heaven’s dimension

To elevate the psyche and the hearts beyond hope

Into certain realms of the hearts made bespoke

For each other, the Thin White Queen and he

Who will love her – requited eternally.

The hand of destiny holds her fast

Reassuring her that love will last

The long years of waiting and the gloom

That have transcended her out of the tomb

And given the resilience to wait for him

Who her soul loves beyond the point of doom.

The Transparent Knight

The Transparent Knight is easy to decipher

Waiting in the shadows to redefine her.

With inane conversation and tedium

Leaving her in another compendium

Of selfish games that never satisfy

Waiting but she will now pass him by.

No action, broken word

These the crimes by him adored

Entirely see-through and vacuous

Empty promises by a noble tactless

See thru chest with no heart within

Dead to life and love a sin

Creeping thought and rank presumption

Love lies bleeding the last assumption.

The Steely knife

He stabs her with his steely knife

She stays still and quiet without strife

To fill the vials and wait for time

The healer that fixes all sublime

To make it to the final curtain

That for sure is now certain

The depths of sad descend again

The heights of glad rise to fame

Denied her by her love so true

Protecting and rejoicing over her

With singing and the dance of life

That fills her days with heaven life

The Fight

The Thin White Queen lives to fight another day

In love with her true heart she would wish to stay

As she walks alone in this troubled world

Every day a flag unravelled and unfurled

The walk of the Thin White Glide

Will stem the onslaught of the coming tide

Of inevitable heartbreak and heartache

Life and love a frozen part of the coming trouble

Which will pass as all other do though double

The price of all her sins

Have been repaid with her psyche deep within

Who will release this pent up love and take

What she offers and a home will make?

Long live the Black King who forever reigns

And holds all lives in His key of chains

And judges all so very perfectly

Loving the Thin White Queen so completely.

Spinning board

The chequer board spins on the Thin White Glide

Thinking that somewhere, someone has died

She slips and slides up and down the very place

Looking for His warm embrace.

Who will deliver from the hand of death?

What can replace her latest breath?

Only the Saviour King can know

Or point the way her glide to slow.

Fast and slower she rides the storms

Waiting and waiting for loves alarms

Where all is at rest and peace and love

Everlasting life to prove.
