She glides along the city streets in a long white coat
Assured of her destiny her soul does gloat
Over the overlooking of the Sun of her soul
Watching as along the pavement she does
roll.
The flowing robe of righteousness can almost be seen
Protected and helped by a hand always unseen
Men look at her with wondering eyes
A woman so alone and so despised.
Left- abandoned and neglected by the white king
He has lost his grip and can no longer sing
She is rejected because her song is always heard
Across the streets of doom and forever adored.
Heaven’s hosts look on with wondering eyes
At one so singly put aside and subject of so many lies
Gossip and misogyny have stripped her bare
But she alone is the only one who will dare
To put an end to the pretence and woe
As onward in her holy quest she will go.
