The Banquet

The Queens and Kings are gathering for the long repast

The knights and Ladies are wondering how long it will last

Until all festivities are over and the table load

Will give way to life in the warm abode.

The Queen resides over the sumptuous affair

The King reaches out and dishes out as the glorious pair

Stand rampant over the tables of delights

And all the little pawns over the best bits fights

Come Ladies and Lords and enjoy the feast

Provided for you by the hand of the least

And best of the court of the Interpreter’s house

As the knights in armour kindly joust

Through all the handmade delights and dishes

And every heart gains their heartfelt wishes.

Come bishops and rooks from your earthly home

Eat of the feast before it is all past and gone

All are welcome at the festal board

As the heart of the Black King is adored.

The White Queen eats her meagre meal

Enjoying the fellowship of the friendship deal

The Black and White Queens and their attendant Kings

Over the whole festival board eternal sings.
