The King of Diamonds

He rubs his covetous hands in mortal glee

To get to the very beating heart of me

Keep me in the thrall of the chains of marriage

Until I finally end the run of a life’s barrage

And get myself free from the bonds of your love

The stranglehold of the abusive hand above

The door of my heart that remain tightly shut

Lest you should enter and pull me all apart.

Loves full stream never let me suffer as such as this

For you are untrue and deal me a life of continual bliss

Of knowing I am missing out on the courts of love

And you are unfaithfully hidden your hand in glove

You bring me down to the end of my fate

And lead me gently through pathways of hate

The King of Diamonds will cut you through and through

Leaving the blood seeping into the street and you

Will bleed to death before he notices the pool

Of your life between the sheets so sadly cool

And the hot stuff never again to feel or know

Only sadness and aloneness to left to show…
