The Saviour king

He stands before us in beauty and splendour

Sharing His grace and glorious tendour

He offers us His smitten hands

And before the altar of God forever stands

Only He can save our souls

Forgive, renew and as happiness rolls

Give us peace the whole way through

As we look to Him alone and joy renew..

The Saviour King beckons to all

Listen and obey His call

To come, repent and give Him all

He will give you all His part

Heaven and Earth and His loving heart

He is the Saviour-Saviour King

Ask Him and He will give you everything.

The Virgin Queen

Once loved, now a distant memory

The Virgin Queen waits patiently

Maybe love will one day hence return

Or perhaps she will in sorrow and tears daily burn

He didn’t come back to collect his bride

She waited for him in his car to ride

To drive her far away from the gloom

That settled daily through every room

Visit after visit to a refuge so rough

Time after time it was never enough

To block the pain of loosing her heart

And the hurt she caused and the unbearable smart.

Yet she survived the waves of loves constant onslaught

Living alone and in peace now unsought

Growing in power and love from above

Seeking a family full of power and love…

Ace of Hearts

How is love manifest to us in our day?

Because the Man from Heaven came to stay

Took a body as his personal own

Left all behind even His mighty throne.

Condescended to come down to us

Low and sinful overtaken with lust

Wanting everything having lost it all

Squandered away in the final fall.

The Man of glory climbed the tree

To secure salvation for you and me

Paid the price once and for all

So that when we respond to His call

We would come and put the faith given

Hiding ourselves in the side now riven

To conquer all our putrid misdeeds

And ensure our life to heaven leads.

He did it all with a pure and loving heart

So that you and I would have a part.

The Ace of Spades

This card belongs to the gravedigger

Now a man but also bigger

The Holy God come in flesh

To rescue us as the book saith.

He takes our sins and buries them

Forgiving us to renew again

Our love for God and Jesus to

The Holy Spirit within you too.

The grave is closed and sealed forever

Captivating death that never

Will keep us down and out for good

But rising up as He says we should.

The White Queen is vexed

She wants men to serve her, but they only want to rule…

They treat her as a common fool

Big error in such a small white body

Covered in scars from her Lover’s folly

She lies against the wall as her Lover speaks

Words of encouragement to reach

Into her psyche to dispel the gloom

Always in the upper room…

When vexed her language displays swearing words

Not usual, but needing to breath the sweet air of communion

With her Lord Christ

Men foster folly

Grow dim in knowledge

She refuses the poison culture of mind numbing drugs….

The White Queen

She lives alone though not of choice

Still we hear her still, small voice

Over the airwaves of the internet

Reaching out, not finished yet.

A life of solitude now is her lot

The silence of home is what she’s got

The space to find herself and think

Freedom to love and live with pink.

Making choices every day

Maybe someone will come to stay

Making life rich beyond her dreams

This her destiny now, it seems.

Writing her thoughts and dreams and fire

Pent up inside her that warm desire

For closeness now fulfilled in the Father

A human child made right for further

Joys untold in the future days

Rejoicing in poetry and songs and lays.

The Two of Diamonds

Money isn’t everything, but it’s sometimes something

Burns a hole in you pocket, but one final thing

It doesn’t answer back, argue or disagree

It can buy you stuff and take you on a spree

Diamonds are not forever, they will perish too

Along with all the belongings in the final coup

When God takes back all that He has given

And we are taken up to our palace in heaven

We won’t say goodbye, but welcome home to me

We’ll bow at the feet of the Man on the cruel Tree

Who paid the highest price to give us everything

Complete forgiveness costing us nothing

Money is necessary in this mortal life

But often brings greediness, heartache and strife

The Two of Diamonds will never see you right

Check out the Ace of Hearts, He’ll take you out of sight.

The Rook’s Crow

Always a hoverer as a black-hearted crow

A dark look is imprinted on the black-crested brow.

Crowing and growing the raven-crested head

The rooks crow is certainly profoundly dead.

He waits for the signs of Rigor Mortis to set in

Then the death-pall raises the bar to chip the chips of sin.

Dump the body and run to the edge of doom

Cope in the darkness with a wilderness of gloom.

The Vaunted Knight

The vaunted knight sallies the stolen crown forth

North, South, East, West, he brings its influence to worth

The power of the hateful heart infests the rest

Of the troubled might in the mighty breast.

He steals, he robs, the light from the eye

The crown ever hid in his minds tie

Imposter, pretender, and ultimate foe.

Into eternal hell must go.

The vaunted knight holds it fast

In a hellish fist of godless wrath.

He holds it firm but it cannot stay

From his weak grip it now falls away.

The power and the glory are now reassigned

To the proper place of holy right

And all Earth trembles at the Victor,s sight.

The Thin White Glide

She glides and slides down the corridors of power

Using the hint of loves flower

To blind the unwary and root out the smell

Of fear, to infiltrate the enemy nose as well.

Wall to wall the swish of a dress

Leaves all aghast at the lack of cold breath

To keep alive in times of famine

Hungry days with empty ravine.

The thin, white glide will get you through

Down the streets of doom and everyone too.

Don’t baulk at the ride but slipstream glide

The Queen of white and thin and pride…
