Lost

The Thin White Queen is lost and lone

All thoughts of love forever flown

Bent on life she holds it fast

The vows she made will ever last.

But He holds her firm in a sound embrace

All other loves – gone now – to efface

The truth that the love of the Black King

Will make her true and never faltering.

It is a power far beyond her own

And He will sanctify her on the throne

Because she is faithful and a lover still

Of all that is true and strong in goodwill

Lost to this world – a certainty

Never to roam from His Holy See

Saved forever to never part again

From all that is right and true and amen.

Let not her failure shine through the gloom

May her love forever in glory bloom

Nothing lasts but the holy love

A gift returned from the Black King above.
